What is your freelance job, and how much do you earn?

I’m a full-time freelance content writer; I began my freelancing career in December 2016. I currently make between at least 2,00,000 rupees to 3,00,000 rupees per month with freelance content writing.

Some months net me more than 3 lac rupees per month, some others are only about 1.5 to 2 lac rupees. Since I receive my payments via PayPal, here is proof of my earnings -

Between April to July 2020, I earned about $39,891 in 4 months which is about 29.8 lac rupees in 4 months.

That’s about 24,800 rupees per day or about 7.45 lac per month, but usually, I make 2 lac to 3 lac per month.

What exactly do I do? Who are my clients?

  1. High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs) - who are looking to build courses online or simply start a blog; I help them set up their content plan, which topics to write about, which keywords, and finally, also write the content for them.
  2. Educational Institutions - who are looking to prepare course content for their bachelor’s and master’s programs; I am responsible for preparing the online content that details their offerings and explains them to the students. In rare cases, I am also asked to prepare some supplementary training material to help the students grasp the concepts with ease.
  3. Start-ups - I know a few founders personally who have been my past clients; I helped them create their entire content marketing plan, chose the channels to build engagement in, and redirect the traffic to their websites. I have written YouTube scripts as well, that Fiverr’s voiceover actors would read aloud to explain my clients’ businesses.
  4. Marketing agencies - I have ghostwritten articles for marketing agencies; I still continue to do that from time to time. However, I don’t particularly enjoy it because the topics aren’t in my niche.
  5. IT outsourcing companies & resellers - I do quite a lot of ghostwriting in the technical domain for those who provide cloud solutions and other IT services; the money is relatively good, and the work is mostly stable.
  6. University students - I help master’s students with their research efforts and guide them with their dissertations. This is done via phone consultations and they are billed per hour.

I have other types of clients as well, but those are some of the main ones.
